We’ve had colour-coded “threat level” warnings. We’ve got unwinnable wars on terrorism and drugs. We’ve got TV shows like “Cops” that gleefully focus on the unfortunate. The list goes on and on; we’re fed a steady diet of nightmares. Is it any wonder people are scared? I’m not saying there is some cabal out there who have decided they need to keep everybody nervous. I doubt it’s that pre-planned and deliberate. I’m just reporting what I see. I wonder what the next witch-hunt will be? We’ve already done Recovered Memories, and it’s no fun bashing Communism any more. I guess somebody will think up something. The more frightened people are, the easier they are to control.
